Shinfield Festive Fayre: Lighting up the start of Advent

The village of Shinfield came alive on the chilly evening of Friday, 1st December, as the Shinfield Festive Fayre unfolded its festivities. I had the privilege of hosting this delightful event alongside the talented Sophie Ames. The night was filled with joy, laughter, and a sense of community that brought everyone together for the start of Advent.

The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the Christmas tree light switch-on by Shinfield Parish Council & the sing-song. To add a musical touch to the festivities, Soph from "Sing for Yourself" encouraged everyone to join in and rock around the Christmas tree! The mesmerizing glow of the Christmas tree and Soph's infectious energy resonated with the crowd, making it a joyous celebration of the holiday spirit.
The Festive Fayre wasn't just about lights and music; it also tantalized the taste buds and showcased local craftsmanship. Robyn’s Nest was packed all afternoon & evening for orders of pigs in blankets and wintery hot chocolates. Craft stalls featured handmade treasures, providing an opportunity for the community to find unique gifts and support local artisans. The Repair Cafe was set up in the cafe and repairing people’s Christmas lights ready for the festive season too!
Milk & Honey Days
Sophie and I selected the 30 stalls carefully to ensure everything on offer was of a wonderful standard and products people would actually want to buy! Inspire my Soul has beautiful sterling silver jewellery, Love Lula Bula certainly bagged several sales with her vibrant bags with interchangeable straps, and Doolin Designs (a local artist) showcased her talent.
Artists Harvest offered face painting for children and we also set up a craft table to keep them entertained whilst parents did a spot of shopping.
