Female Business Networking & Mentorship in Berkshire
You weren’t meant to have every business conversation with yourself.
Where women running established businesses come for better conversations, stronger connections and practical support.
Sometimes that means meeting the right person at a PAYG networking event. Sometimes it means having someone challenge the decision you’ve been circling for three months.

The Networking Bit
Networking shouldn’t rely on you being brilliant at networking.
If you’ve ever walked into a networking event, spotted the one person you already know and then remained suspiciously close to them for the next two hours, I get it.
A lot of networking puts the responsibility on you to somehow turn a room full of strangers into useful relationships.
I don’t.
Business Nest events have structure. I make introductions. Everyone gets the chance to talk about their business. There are prompts and conversations that get you past “So… what do you do?”, and I pay attention to who is in the room so I can connect people who should probably know each other.
It still feels relaxed. You can still have a laugh. There is normally very good coffee involved and ALWAYS something tasty.
You are not paying to stand in a room and hope something useful happens. Let’s action it.
This isn’t networking for people who’ve just decided they fancy “starting something”.
Most of the women who find their way into The Business Nest already have established businesses.
They know what they do. They have customers. They have experience. They’ve probably already survived at least three Instagram algorithm panics and one offer they absolutely thought was going to sell better than it did.
What they often don’t have is enough people around them who understand what running a small business actually feels like.
People to recommend them. Challenge an idea. Introduce them to somebody. Tell them they are overcomplicating it. Ask the question they haven’t asked themselves yet.
That is the room I’m trying to create.
The kind of energy I’ll make sure our calls have!
When a good conversation isn’t enough.
Sometimes you don’t need another idea. You need someone to get underneath the one you’re already avoiding.
My mentoring clients are rarely short of ideas.
Quite often they have far too many of them.
The harder bit is working out which one deserves their attention, why the important thing keeps getting pushed to next month, whether the problem they’re trying to solve is actually the problem, and what is commercially worth doing next.
That is the work I love.
I will absolutely help you make a plan, but I am far more interested in whether it is the right plan than whether we can make it look impressively organised on a spreadsheet.
Sometimes I’ll help you spot an opportunity.
Sometimes I’ll tell you I think you’re solving the wrong problem.
And sometimes I’ll ask why the thing you said was important three months ago is still sitting untouched on your list.
Because having someone in your corner is useful.
Having someone who will challenge you when necessary is considerably more useful.
And This Is Me
I didn’t learn about running a business by teaching other people how to run theirs.
Before The Business Nest became my primary business, there was a coffee trailer, cafés, staff, premises, customers, cash flow, stock, VAT, growth, spectacular ideas, questionable ideas and a lot of decisions that couldn’t be fixed by posting another Reel.
I started my first business in 2016 and spent years building businesses in hospitality before moving fully into networking and mentoring.
That matters to me.
Because when you bring me a business problem, I’m not only looking at your content strategy or telling you what the latest online business wisdom says you “should” be doing.
I’m thinking about customers, money, capacity, the offer, the decision you’ve been avoiding, what you actually want this business to give you and whether the thing taking up all your attention deserves quite so much of it.
I’ve built businesses.
I’ve changed my mind.
I’ve shut things down.
I’ve sold the business I spent nearly a decade growing.
And I’ve learnt an enormous amount from all of it.
AI is part of the toolkit too.
After selling the cafe, I spent 4 months working towards certification in AI for Business and work with businesses on using it properly, rather than asking ChatGPT to “make this sound more professional” and wondering why everything suddenly sounds like LinkedIn wrote it.
Clients working with me get access to that knowledge too.
We might use AI to analyse something, build a system, interrogate an offer, speed up work that should not be taking you three hours or simply help you get far more useful answers from the tools you’re already paying for.
The important bit is knowing when AI should do some of the work and when you still need to use your own brain.
I’m less interested in whether you enjoyed it than what happened because you came.
Looking for social media & marketing workshops?
That lives over at The Pink Nest.
Laura Summers and I created The Pink Nest for practical, hands-on marketing training where small business owners actually make the thing, try the thing and leave knowing how to use the thing.
That’s where you’ll find our workshops on Instagram, Reels, email marketing and content.
